Meet the Staff at Mission Bell United Methodist Church

Douglas E. Reynolds (pdoug)

Pastor Doug Reynolds is the newly appointed pastor to Mission Bell United Methodist Church.  He has been serving as an appointed clergy in the United Methodist connection since 1995.  When asked if he has a specific passion, he said, “I think it’s time I complete a book entitled “The Forensic Pastor”.

Since entering fulltime ministry as a United Methodist pastor, Doug’s appointments have been to churches struggling with recovery or restoration issues.  His passion for spiritual development in concert with his knowledge and skills in counseling, mediation, organizational development, and business analysis/critical assessment have made him an ideal appointment to churches needing focused pastoral guidance and leadership.

Pastor Doug and his wife Ethel have two sons living in the Phoenix area; Jason (Mara), Jared (Kristine) and five grandchildren ranging in age from 13 down to 8 years of age (Bailey, Ruby, Wyatt, Declan, and William).  The Reynolds are focused on the joy of being family and a mountain of kid’s activities.  “God has surely blessed us and brought us all to the same location”, says Pastor Doug.

Pastor Doug has an undergraduate degree in theatre (speech) and graduate degrees in counseling psychology and business administration.  He is an ordained deacon and completed his work at Garett Evangelical Seminary.   He has: taught; served as a consultant to colleges and universities; consulted on organizational/ management development; been a CEO for two health care organizations, and assisted in church interventions and mediation.

Pastor Doug says, “I am excited about the opportunity to serve at Mission Bell UMC and look forward to its future growth in mission and ministry”.
