Douglas E. Reynolds (Doug)

Reverend Reynolds (Doug) was appointed to Mission Bell UMC in 2017. He has been serving as an appointed clergy in the United Methodist connection since 1995.

Since entering fulltime ministry as a United Methodist pastor, Doug’s appointments have been to churches struggling with recovery or revitalization issues. His passion for spiritual development in concert with his knowledge and skills in counseling, mediation, organizational development, and critical assessment have made him an ideal pastor to churches needing to refocused their ministries and vision.

Pastor Doug and his wife Ethel have two sons living in the Phoenix area; Jason (Mara), Jared (Kristine) and five grandchildren ranging in age from 19 down to 14 years of age (Bailey, Ruby, Wyatt, Declan, and William). The Reynolds’ are focused on the joy of being family and all the activities that go with it. “God has surely blessed us and brought us all to the same location”, says Pastor Doug.

Pastor Doug has and undergraduate degree in theatre (speech) and graduate degrees counseling psychology and business administration. He is an ordained deacon and completed his work at Garett Evangelical Seminary. He has – taught; served as a consultant for organizational/ management development; been a CEO for two health care organizations, and assisted in church interventions and mediation.

Pastor Doug says, “I am excited about the opportunity to pastor Mission Bell UMC and look forward its future growth in mission and ministry”. When asked if he has a specific passion, he said, “I think it’s time I complete a book entitled “The Forensic Pastor”.
